A Note From Nate
It can be very tricky finding time to have your family portrait taken. With everyone’s lives being so busy it can be difficult to gather everyone together for a professional family portrait. It is easy to delay having your family photographed but those who procrastinate often find that the need to have a portrait made comes about very suddenly and unexpected. I urge you to not wait like I did:Growing up, my family never had a family portrait. Sure, we had snapshots of holidays and birthdays but never a professional family photo. We didn’t consider ourselves the “photogenic type.” Years later, after my photographic hobby turned into my career, I wanted to create our first family portrait. Unfortunately, I waited too long. In 2009, my mother passed away from cancer. With all of our schedule differences and travel needed, my siblings and our spouses just could not get together in time for the photograph. While I was able to create some portraits of my mother with my father, my sister as well as creating a photograph of my siblings and I together, one of my biggest regrets is that I was unable to get the entire family together for our only family portrait.
I know everyone’s lives are busy but my advice to you is to not wait to have your family portrait created. There are many reasons to put off a family photo. Perhaps someone in the group wants to wait until they lose 10 pounds or maybe someone has a few blemishes they are self conscious of. I completely understand how you feel! Let me put your mind to rest by saying that I will help you look your best.
